Global Satria is focusing on 2 high quality table fishes noted for their taste and the texture of their flesh. The Tiger Grouper is now found in live fish restaurants all over China as income levels grow. The Tiger Grouper’s flesh is suitable for the Chinese way of cooking fish as it is not too flaky or too tough after steaming. The other fish we are interested in is the Barramundi or Asian Sea Bass. It’s flesh is suitable for fish and chips and has a large potential market in Australia and UK.
We presently maintain over 400 breeding size Barramundi and over 250 breeding size Tiger Grouper that we have been patiently growing over the past 2 years. After a year of research in finding out the requirements of their larvae, we are now constructing specially designed “Eco-hatcheries” that will allow for mass scale production of both fingerlings on an unprecedented level.
This will allow us to sell fingerling to other farms and to support the establishment of our new Sea Farm that will eventually have over 500 sea cages of Tiger Groupers. Our Barramundi are presently farmed in ponds and Australian buyers have commented that our Barramundi tastes better than wild Australian ones. Although our Fish Culture section is just getting established, we believe it will one day become just as significant as our Prawn Culture operations.
